The Boat

I have become like that of a boat,
but I am one that refuses to float.

Kept upon dry land is where I’ll be.
Far from the waters of the sea.

No oar nor anchor in me you’ll find,
for no thought of her waters lay in my mind.

I’m the freest boat, happily incomplete,
and without the desire to be with the sea.
